Work with query tabs

Each query tab in DevOpsPad is an independent editor bound to one connection and one scope: a database for MySQL, ClickHouse and MongoDB, or a context and namespace for Kubernetes and K3s. You can keep many tabs open, run them separately and switch between them without losing text or results.

Tabs stay open when you move between 中间件 and Infra in the left rail, so you can check a Deployment and come back to your SQL where you left it.

Open a tab

  • Click a table, collection, key, topic or resource type in the Explorer. DevOpsPad opens a tab named after it with a starter query. Clicking the same item again in the same scope switches to the existing tab instead of opening a duplicate.
  • Click New query in the connection header, or the + next to the tabs (New query tab), to open an empty tab named Query 1, Query 2 and so on.
  • Open an entry from Query history or Saved queries. See Saved queries and query history.

Each tab keeps its own scope

When you open a tab, it records the database or namespace selected in the Explorer at that moment, and for clusters the context too. Changing the Explorer drop-down later affects new tabs only. The toolbar above the editor shows the tab’s scope, for example commerce or west / staging, next to Read-only session.

This lets you compare two databases, or two namespaces, side by side without editing connection settings.

Run, save and close

  • Run the active tab with Run query or ⌘ / Ctrl + Enter. A spinner on the tab shows it is running; other tabs stay usable. See Run and cancel a query.
  • Click Save to keep the query in your saved queries.
  • Close a tab with its ×. Closing a running tab cancels its query.

Structure and key details

For tabs opened from a table or key, the toolbar shows Structure (MySQL, ClickHouse) or Key details (Redis). They open the object inspector for that item. See Inspect MySQL table structure and DDL.

Keep tabs across restarts

Tabs are kept in memory and close when you quit the app, unless you turn on Restore query drafts on startup in Settings. That restores query text, tab titles and scopes, never results. See Restore query drafts after restart.

Limits

  • Results belong to the tab that produced them and are not saved.
  • Recovery stores at most 100 tabs per workspace.
  • Use one DevOpsPad window at a time if recovery is on; tabs are not merged between windows.
